By now, some of you have got this down pat, and others are still struggling as much as day one. Some have experienced great moments of community with God and others are wondering if He is even listening. He is listening! Scripture assures us that God hears us. (1 John 5:14, 15)

The beauty of a relationship with Christ is that it is personal. Everyone is at a different place and that’s ok. We all have unique talents, strengths and weaknesses and thankfully God relates to us all as individually as He created us. We won’t all be experiencing or learning the same thing at the same time. The great news is that He doesn’t call us to be someone else.

So if it seems like He is ignoring you, He’s not. He promises never to leave or forsake us. (Deuteronomy 31:8) He is Jehovah- Shammah, the God who is there. Jesus is Immanel, God with us. You see our feelings are unreliable judges. There is just something about staying the course and remaining obedient even when we don’t “feel” it. Have stubborn faith that chooses to believe anyway. As Bryan Loritts says, “There are no microwaves in God’s kitchen, only crockpots.” So to everyone on this journey of a fast, hang in there!
