Day 18: Enduring Faith

By Dana Storrs (February 3, 2021)

Jesus is Lord of the impossible, and He uses “anyone” with faith to bring about miracles and change! Stop right now and think of the people in your life that have big faith. Now, send them a quick text, email, or phone call and tell them what YOU are believing God for during this time!

It is crucial that we are part of a community of people that don’t doubt and wonder, but that will stand WITH us and with the Word of God. If you’re reading this, you’re ALREADY a part of a beautiful family of believers here at Calvary that will stand with you and believe with you. Praise God!

However, let me speak to those of you who have been believing and praying for a miracle for what seems like a long time. I’ve been there! Miracles don’t always happen instantly. God works in seasons and in His timing. His ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. He sent a baby into the world to save humanity, when He could’ve done that in an instant.

Hebrews speaks to having enduring faith.

Hebrew 10: 35-36 “So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.”

Hebrews 12: 1b-2a “And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.”

God uses everything for good and creates beauty from ashes. He wastes nothing and uses every opportunity to display His glory and bring people to Himself. He uses natural resources and circumstances to lead us to supernatural outcomes! He uses people (“anyone”) to bring encouragement, faith, and practical resources to be the miracle for someone else.

So, where do we go from here?

First, we need to KNOW and TRUST God. We need to dig deep and digest His word so that we can have the courageous faith and confidence in the character and love of God.

We then need to activate that faith and join in with community to pray and
believe God for these things. We need to endure and persevere when it seems impossible.

Let’s remember to praise and glorify God even when it seems like our prayers didn’t “work.”

Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

Thank you God, for the community that you’ve placed me in that will stand in faith to see your glory and power in my situation. Help me to continue to draw closer to you through this time and through each day to come. I know that you waste nothing and you see things that I don’t! I trust you with my whole heart. Amen
