Day 13: The Pressure Is Off

By Wes Landriault (January 29, 2021)

“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”  Psalm 139:16 NLT

Did you read that? Take another 10 seconds and let that verse sink in. God says that every single one of your days were recorded in a book in heaven. Before you were even born, all your days on planet earth were planned out like a story waiting to unfold.

It was last year when I heard someone preach on this verse, and this amazing truth came alive for me. With all the chaos and uncertainty that is taking place around us, especially in the last year, it can sometimes feel like tomorrow is another disaster waiting to happen. Believing this can bring fear, anxiety and worry into our lives.

What if we just read is actually true? This means that God specifically planned for you and I to be alive for such a time as this, to help build His kingdom here on earth.

When that truth got into my heart last year, I realized that the pressure is off. It is not up to me anymore, “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:16).

If God is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), He will bring your life’s story and mine to a wonderful end.

We have the opportunity today to partner with God to discover the incredible story He was written about us and live it out. Let us live by faith, and not by sight, trusting and obeying Him no matter the circumstances. God will be faithful to help you accomplish every plan and purpose He has for you. You can’t fail!

Father, when trouble come my way, help me to remember that it is not up to me to figure everything out. Thank you that You have prepared all the days of my life in advance, with many good works prepared for me to do. I say yes to Your story about me. I choose to trust the Author and Finisher of my faith to see me through these uncertain times. Help me to do my part and obey, as I yield to Your perfect and pleasing will. Thank you that I cannot fail in Christ Jesus my Lord. Amen.
